چکیده

Ribonucleotide reductase activity in cell-free tissue extracts from Yaba monkey tumors, spleen, kidney, liver, and muscle has been measured in vitro. The specific activity of the enzyme in the Yaba tumor extracts was approximately two times that observed in normal muscle tissue extracts and ten times that in normal liver, spleen and kidney extracts. The specific activity in Yaba tumor extracts does not show an absolute requirement for ATP although the presence of exogenous ATP increases enzyme activity. A loss in specific activity occurs after dialysis of the Yaba tumor extracts but not with the extracts from normal monkey spleen. Ribonucleotide reductase activity from Yaba tumor extracts is inhibited by exogenous deoxyadenosine 5'-triphosphate, deoxycytidine 5'-triphosphate, and deoxyguanosine 5'-triphosphate ; it is inhibited slightly by deoxythymidine 5'-triphosphate.

Inhibition of Ribonucleotide ReducÃ-aseby Gallium in Murine Leukemic LI 210 Cells1

Our previous studies of the mechanism of cell growth inhibition by gallium have suggested that the block in cellular iron uptake induced by transferrin-gallium results in an inhibition of the iron-dependent M2 subunit of ribonucleotide reducÃ-ase.However, it is not known whether the inhibitory effect of gallium on ribonucleotide reducÃ-aseis solely the result of limiting iron availability for e...

Complete genomic sequence and comparative analysis of the tumorigenic poxvirus Yaba monkey tumor virus.

The Yatapoxvirus genus of poxviruses is comprised of Yaba monkey tumor virus (YMTV), Tanapox virus, and Yaba-like disease virus (YLDV), which all have the ability to infect primates, including humans. Unlike other poxviruses, YMTV induces formation of focalized histiocytomas upon infection. To gain a greater understanding of the Yatapoxvirus genus and the unique tumor formation properties of YM...

Differences in clinical and convalescent-phase antibodies of Rhesus monkeys infected with monkey pox, tanapox, and Yaba poxviruses.

Complement-fixing and complement-fixing inhibiting (CFI) antibodies were demonstrated in the clinical and convalescent stages, respectively, of rhesus monkeys infected with either monkey poxvirus, Tanapoxvirus, or Yaba poxvirus. Specificity of the CFI antibody was confirmed by its failure to cross-react with heterologous poxvirus antigens and by experiments demonstrating the CFI test as being a...

Mechanism of enhanced plaque formation by poliovirus in poxvirus-infected cells.

The mechanism of the enhancement by Yaba virus (YV) of poliovirus plaque formation was studied. Poliovirus adsorbed equally well to both YV-infected and normal J INET cells. Infectious RNA of poliovirus was also enhanced in YVinfected cells, thus indicating the step or sequence of steps of poliovirus growth cycle enhanced by YV may be those subsequent to poliovirus uncoating. One-step growth ex...
